A useful starting point for you might be the "Natural Semantic Metalanguage
Homepage" at

(maintained by Cliff Goddard) where you will find a lot of resources and
information about his and Anna Wierzbicka's approach based on semantic
primes. The site also provides links to a number of online papers and a
bibliography of NSM works. And then there is a mailing list "NSM-L" for
semantic-primitives-enthusiasts (maintained by Bert Peeters, check
https://mailman.rice.edu/pipermail/funknet/2002-September/002331.html).
