We invite applications for two half-time research positions (salary
scale 1/2 BAT IIa) within the project 'Multimodal Alignment Corpora:
Statistical Modeling and Information Management'. This project is funded
by the DFG (German Research Foundation) as part of the Bielefeld
Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 673 'Alignment in Communication'.
The project focuses on the text technological and statistical modelling
of alignment processes as well as on the management and maintenance of
the resulting representations by means of an Alignment Corpus Management
System (ACMS).

We are looking for researchers who are motivated to take an
interdisciplinary perspective on stochastic modeling of linguistic
systems in combination with its text technological standardization.
Strong programming skills in C++ and Java are needed as well as expert
knowledge in the development and management of databases. A
computational linguistic background and experiences in quantitative
modelling are likewise indispensable.

The successful candidates must have an M.A. or an equivalent degree. If
the researchers do not hold a Ph.D. yet, they are expected to write
their thesis in the context of the project.

The position starts asap and lasts 4 years. Please submit your
