Dear Eleonora,
a system that comes to mind immediately is EXMARaLDA which is being
developed as part of a project at the Collaborative Research Center
Multilingualism at the University of Hamburg. It is a set of tools and
data formats geared specifically towards the transcription, annotation,
analysis and management of spoken language corpora. It also contains an
editor for annotating spoken language files.
Check out the following URL: http://www.exmaralda.org
If you are merely looking for an editor that will help you annotate
already transcribed spoken language and give you maximum support in data
import, xml file preparation and painlessly setting up simple annotation
schemes, you might want to consider Gregory Garretson's Dexter:
http://www.dextercoder.org/
Depending on your XML expertise and assuming that you do not need to
handle sound files, but simply want to annotate transcribed text, in
principle, any good xml editor will do.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Sabine
