Hi Naveed,

I'm using the NooJ linguistic platform (cf. www.nooj4nlp.net) to recognize and tag biomedical named entities, in French.

I developed a terminological dictionary of about 10 000 entries + a set of local grammars (finite state transducers) to annotate texts ....

Then, we can use NooJ's regular expressions to extract biomedical named entities. Fro example:
<MEDIC> : matches all medical expressions / terms in the text
<MEDIC+Pneumologie>: matches all medical expressions / terms related to pneumology => appareil respiratoire (i.e. breathing tract), crise d'asthme (i.e. asthma attack), ...

  Best,

  Slim

  Thanks.
