Hi,
There is a huge main difference:
Knol promotes authorship.
Differently from Wikipedia, where the author is just a big collective
anonymous blob, in Knol you actually sign your articles and,
therefore, you are held responsible for what you write and/or don't
write.
IMHO, after a few years, Wikipedia has become quite messy and not
always reliable.
This was not really what people expected in the beginning, so maybe
Knol is a good alternative now. We'll just have to wait and see.
