The Collaborative Research Center 'Emergence of Meaning' (SFB 833)
at the University of Tuebingen, Germany has an opening for
a postdoctoral position (full-time appointment) in
Computational Linguistics
with demonstrated research expertise in one or more of the following
areas: standardization and interoperability of language resources,
mark-up languages, metadata standards, and web services.
The successful candidate will coordinate the infrastructure (INF) project
of the SFB 833, which is responsible for the management and integration
of all primary research data produced within the SFB 833. The position
requires programming experience in Java as well as good communication skills
and good command of German and English.
The Collaborative Research Center offers a stimulating interdisciplinary
research environment where linguists, computational linguists, cognitive
psychologists and neuroscientists interact. More information can be

The starting date for the position is September 1, 2009. The initial
period of appointment is until June 30, 2013, with the possibility of renewal
subject to follow-up funding. The position is at the rank of
"Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter" (M.A. or equivalent required). The
salary is determined by the German civil servants standard
(Entgeltgruppe TV-L 13).
