[Corpora-List] two positions in text mining (NaCTeM) --University of Manchester

[Sophia Ananiadou]

The National Centre for Text Mining (www.nactem.ac.uk <http://www.nactem.ac.uk/> ) seeks to appoint two self motivated and experienced text miners to customise its tools and services.

 

NaCTeM, hosted by the School of Computer Science, provides next-generation text mining services to the community using natural language processing techniques to build advanced search systems in a number of domains. You will be part of a strong and dynamic team of text miners and software engineers. You will customise the centre's existing text mining tools and services for improved searching, information extraction, summarisation and Q/A from full texts in biology, medicine, social sciences including documents held in institutional repositories.


You should have a PhD in Computer Science or related area and a good first degree (minimum 2:1) in an area relevant to the job description, along with proven experience in the areas of natural language processing, text mining, summarisation, question/answering, information extraction. An excellent publication record is desirable. 

The posts are available immediately for a period of 23 months.
