Just go to Google and type
infant TV exposure
You'll get abut 1,640,000 hits, mostly saying that it's bad.
Then go to Google Scholar for about 54,500 scholarly studies.
There are, of course, variations that depend on many factors,
but the general principle is that passive exposure is not
sufficient for language learning -- for infants or adults.
