Text Mining for Biomedicine and e-Health

NICTA seeks a Senior Researcher for a project in Text Processing
for Applications in Biomedicine and eHealth. The successful candidate
will work with a team of researchers, software engineers, research
students, and collaborators from biomedical partners, to develop new
techniques and technologies in Information Retrieval, Language
Technology, Text Mining, and Interactive Search, and to apply these to
problems in Biomedicine and e-Health.

The successful candidate will have excellent research and innovation
credentials (a PhD is expected) in Computer Science or a related
field, with a proven research contribution in one or more of the above
areas. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential. Previous
experience in biomedical or eHealth applications and a demonstrated
history of innovation are highly desirable. A track record of
collaboration with end-users and transfer of research to impact will
be highly regarded. Candidates are expected to have demonstrated
experience in developing research agendas and supervising junior staff
and students.

This is a fixed-term position of up to 3 years, with a possibility of
renewal. NICTA offers attractive remuneration packages for research
