applications for a

Teaching and Research Assistant in English Linguistics/Translation 
Studies (English) (Reference number: W219)

The position is a half-time appointment for 2 years (extension 
possible). The salary is at level TV-L of the German public sector pay 
scale.

The successful applicant will be required to teach at undergraduate 
level and contribute to the research activities of the department. Work 
on a PhD thesis (or postdoctoral research) is encouraged.

Applicants must have a BA/BSc (Hons) degree in English 
Linguistics/General Linguistics/Computational Linguistics or Translation 
Studies, relevant postgraduate experience (MA or equivalent). An 
excellent command of English and German, including the ability to teach 
in English, is required.  A background in corpus and/or computational 
linguistics, knowledge of functional linguistic approaches as well as 
exertise in (synchronic and diachronic) linguistic variation (esp. 
register) are desirable.
