Distributional semantics is an active area of research within the
field of natural language processing. In distributional semantics, the
meaning of words is explored by looking at their use (distribution) in
texts. The combined contexts of words, represented as feature vectors
in a high-dimensional vector space, are often indicative of their
meaning.

In this workshop, organized at the University of Groningen, a number
of researchers will present their state-of-the-art results on
distributional semantic models.

* Program *

- Explorations in 3D: Semantic Tensor Spaces
Tim Van de Cruys (INRIA, France)

- Identifying intra-lingual and cross-lingual synonymy
   Yves Peirsman (University of Leuven)

- TBD
   Sophia Katrenko (University of Amsterdam)

- Latent Variable Models of Selectional Preference
Diarmuid Ó Séaghdha (University of Cambridge)

- On Learning Subtypes of the Part-whole Relation: Do Not Mix Your
   Seeds
Ashwin Ittoo & Gosse Bouma (University of Groningen)
