*POSITION FOR RESEARCH ASSISANTSHIP IN NIJMEGEN*

A research assistantship is available for 11 months within the Marie Curie
Research Training Network Sound to Sense (S2S) (www.sound2sense.eu). S2S
involves collaborative, interdisciplinary speech research amongst 14
universities in 11 European countries.

The research assistant will annotate three corpora of spontaneous (British)
English for part of speech, clauses & relations, semantic theme/rheme, pitch
accent and boundary tone location, syntactic analysis, orthographic
transcription of words, pauses, and overlaps.

Training will be provided in annotating spontaneous speech and other
relevant skills. As a member of S2S you may travel to other S2S sites, will
work with other S2S Fellows, and attend network-wide activities.

Due to EU mobility requirements, you cannot be appointed
if you are Dutch or has lived in the Netherlands
for 12 of the last 36 months.

The successful candidate is a (near) native speaker of (British) English, is
interested in conversational speech and has a master degree or a comparable
degree that gives you the right to become a PhD. student.
