Post-doctoral Researcher in Natural Language Processing  (2 years)


The Natural Language Processing Research group (TALN) at the Department 
of Communication
and Information Technologies, Universitat Pompeu Fabra has a 2-years 
open position in the area
  of automatic text simplification in Spanish in the context of the 
research project Simplext.

  We are looking for candidates with experience in natural language 
processing (NLP) and in particular
with knowledge and experience in empirical methods (machine learning for 
NLP). Candidates with
interest and/or experience in automatic text summarization, text 
simplification, text-to-text generation,
and development of NLP applications are particularly welcome.

We require:

    * PhD with specialization in Natural Language Processing;
    * Experience in developing NLP applications and Web services;
    * Experience with NLP platforms and tools for the automatic analysis
      of Spanish language;
    * Knowledge and use of the Java language;
    * Proficiency in English

We offer:

    * A 2-years research contractwith a maximum gross salary of
      28.842,72EUR depending on experience
    * Work in a research project with relevance to society
    * Work for adynamic and collaborative research team
    * The position is available immediately
