[Corpora-List] Invitation (Queen's University)

[Interdisciplinary Linguistics Conference]

Dear colleague,

We would like to invite you to the 1st ILinC, a student-led event to take place at Queen’s University Belfast on 14-15 October 2011 (Friday and Saturday).  The main aim of this conference is to bring together researchers working within the broad area of language studies irrespective of their academic divisions.

Three world-leading researchers have accepted to come to Northern Ireland for the first time on the occasion of the 1st ILinC:
(a) Prof. Deborah Cameron / University of Oxford;
(b) Prof. Michael Halliday / University of Sydney;
(c) Prof. Ruqaiya Hasan / Macquaire University.

In addition to these keynote speakers, the conference program will encompass several paper and poster presentations on areas of research such as applied linguistics, corpus linguistics, (critical) discourse analysis, gender studies, language acquisition, sociolinguistics, stylistics, and translation.  A diversity of views and voices will be represented in the conference as presenters come from several parts of the globe.

Registration for the 1st ILinC is now open at http://go.qub.ac.uk/registration.  Should you register by 2 September 2011, you will be able to take advantage of our special early-bird fees.
