[Corpora-List] 3 positions for computational linguists

Nuance Inc. has three open temporary positions for computational linguists.
The positions are full-time and the contract will be for 12 months.
These Linguistic Engineer positions are required to provide linguistic
support
for language expansion of Mobile search and dictation applications

Key Responsibilities

-  Evaluating design and quality of pronunciation dictionaries
-  Identifying new entries for general and specialized dictionaries
-  Correcting existing dictionary entries
-  Phonetic transcription
-  Serving as a language expert resource for engineers and researchers
-  Managing other language consultant contractors
-  Merging in house resources
-  Develop, enhance and debug NLP grammars

Skills and Experience Required

1) Language Skill Requirements

POSITION 1 (Merelbeke, Belgium or Burlington, MA):
-  English: native or near-native skills
-  Native skills in at least one language from the following list:
*  Finnish
*  Basque
*  Estonian
*  Lithuanian
*  Latvian
*  Turkish
*  Farsi
*  Thai
*  Hebrew
*  Vietnamese
*  Urdu
-  And knowledge of at least one other language apart from English

POSITION 2 (Merelbeke, Belgium)

-  English: near-native skills
-  Native or near-native skills in German and French
-  Knowledge of other Romance languages is a plus

POSITION 3 (Burlington, MA)

-  English: native or near-native skills
-  Japanese: native skills


2) Other Requirements
-  A post-graduate degree in linguistics
-  Experience with phonetic transcription and the International Phonetic
Alphabet
-  Ability to program in a scripting language (e.g. Perl or Python)
-  Ability to work independently
-  Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux (navigating directory structures, copying
files, etc.)
-  Familiarity with a text editor (e.g. emacs or vi)
-  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-  Team leadership and/or management experience desired
