Permanent Full Professor Position in Human Language Technology

University of Caen Basse-Normandie (France)

The University of Caen Basse-Normandie (Caen, France) is recruiting a
Permanent Full Professor in the field of Human Language Technology for
the academic year 2012/2013.
The successful candidate will have to demonstrate high-level
international competence in one or more of the following areas:
Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, Text Mining,
Knowledge Extraction from Texts, Information Extraction, Human-Computer
Interaction and others.
The candidate will be part of the team, "Document, Language and Usages"
(DLU - http://www.greyc.fr/dlu) from the Research Laboratory "Computer
Science, Image, Automation and Instrumentation of Caen" (GREYC –
http://www.greyc.fr) affiliated to the National Center for Scientific
Research (CNRS).
The candidate will be required to stimulate and participate in the
internationalization and the excellence of the team, which consists of
13 lecturers or research fellows and a permanent full professor recently
recruited. DLU is known for its national and international achievements
in the field of Digital Libraries, Document Engineering, Natural
Language Processing, Knowledge Extraction from Texts and Human-Computer
Interfaces.
In DLU, the candidate will find a young and dynamic environment
orientating its research around key themes such as personalization,
collaboration, accessibility, adaptivity and ubiquity of Human Language
applications in heterogeneous multilingual environments such as the Web
or networks social.
This position also aims to strengthen the area of Human Language
Technology at the Department of Computer Science of the University of
Caen Basse-Normandie. Within this context, the candidate will be
required to participate actively to the success the new Master in “Image
and Text” in which many modules will have to be insured.
