Special Session on Natural Language Processing and Intelligent Web
Information Processing
Organizers:
Xiao-Long Wang,Harbin Institute of Technology, China.
Rui-Feng Xu,Harbin Institute of Technology, China.
Hai Zhao,Shanghai Jiaotong University, China.
Description:
Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, which addresses the problems
of automated processing, understanding and generation of natural human
languages, plays an important role in various intelligent information
processing fields. The World Wide Web nowadays becomes an extremely
important source of information and knowledge, which is expected to continue
to grow in the amount. Intelligent processing and mining techniques are
critical for extracting essential information and knowledge from massive Web
data. NLP is putted a high premium in web information processing. Recently,
to meet the requirements of processing massive web contents, the neural and
machine learning based NLP techniques attracted much research interests.
Abundant related researches were reported on AAAI, IJCAI, ACL, SIGIR, ICML
and ICONIP while encouraging discussions were conducted. These indicate the
increasing importance of NLP in Web Era.
The special session on natural language processing and intelligent Web
information processing in ICONIP2011 aims to providing a forum to exchange
the exploration on the state-of-the-art natural language processing
technologies for retrieving, organizing, analyzing and mining the various
kinds of Web information. Especially, this session encourages the research
on neural and machine learning based approach in NLP and web information
processing.

Content-based Web Information Filtering
Intelligent Human-Web Interaction
Language Generation
Machine Learning for Information Processing
Machine Translation
Multilingual Processing
Multimodal Systems and Representations
Neural Approach for Natural Language Processing
Ontology-Based Information Extraction and Retrieval
