[Corpora-List] LexIt - a computational resource on argument structure in Italian

I am pleased to announce LexIt, a corpus-based computational resource  
to investigate the argument structure of Italian predicates.

LexIt data can be freely explored at:  http://sesia.humnet.unipi.it/lexit

LexIt contains a vast array of information automatically extracted  
from two large Italian corpora with state-of-the-art computational  
linguistic methods:

- syntactic slots (subject, complements, modifiers, etc.) and  
syntactic subcategorization frames represented as combinations of  
syntactic slots;

- lexical sets containing the fillers realizing the syntactic slots of  
each subcategorization frame;

- semantic classes to describe the selectional preferences of the  
syntactic slots.

LexIt is the first release of an ongoing project on the computational  
analysis of argument structure in Italian, carried out at the  
Laboratory for Computational Linguistics, of the University of Pisa,  
Dept. of Linguistics.

The LexIt interface allows the user to choose the part-of-speech of  
the target lemma and the source corpus, and to explore the database  
through five navigation paths:

- by target lemma;
- by syntactic frame;
- by argument slot;
- by lexical filler and argument slot;
- by semantic class.

Currently, LexIt contains distributional profiles for Italian verbs  
and nouns. Adjectives  will be added soon.
Thanks to the statistical data available in LexIt, it is possible to  
analyze the combinatorial properties of lexical items and the argument  
structure of predicates, by identifying their most salient and  
prototypical distributional features.
