[Corpora-List] Enough already

Yes, kind of. But let me prolong it just a touch. :)

I think what we see here yet again is that the corpora list bravely
volunteers itself to act as the main mailing list and online
discussion area for the ACL / NLP community. There isn't any real
alternative that I'm aware of. It would be nice to have a place where
we could discuss more policy oriented issues more widely, but until we
do these issues sometimes seem to spill over here. I think these
discussions are actually quite healthy for the community, although it
does tend to clutter this list.

It is interesting that as a language oriented community that talks a
lot about social media and all the rest that we still rely on our old
faithful corpora list (which I've been following for nearly 20 years -
that surely can't be possible but the math works out that way). So, I
guess we should say thanks to corpora, and also take care not to
stretch it too much.

Let me now introduce my 14 point plan for improving and indeed
revolutionizing peer review. :)

Cordially,
Ted
