HLT2012 - Second Call for Papers

The Fifth Baltic Conference
HUMAN LANGUAGE TECHNOLOGIES - THE BALTIC PERSPECTIVE
TARTU, Estonia, October 4-5, 2012

Motivation
----------

"The conference will provide a significant push for research,
development and implementation of computer technologies for languages
of the Baltic countries. The main goals of the conference include
raising public awareness of the important role of the human language
technologies in information society, sharing information about latest
developments in the area of computer linguistics, building
interdisciplinary ties between specialists of computational science,
linguistic and information management, raising awareness about
development of smaller languages in the European Union and sharing
experience and establishing co-operation between different
institutions of the Baltic countries and the European Union," was
written in the call for papers of the First Baltic HLT Conference.

Meanwhile, six years and four Baltic HLT conferences have passed by, but the
main ideas remain the same.

Main topics of this conference are (but not limited to):

    * Multilinguality in language resources
    * Human Language Technology applications

   * April 20, 2012 Abstracts due (500 -- 1000 words)
   * May 15, 2012 Notification of acceptance
   * June 29, 2012 Camera-ready copies (up to 8 pages for regular papers and
up to 4 pages for posters and demos)
   * October 3, 2012 Welcome reception: (Tartu Science Centre AHHAA, includes
exposition excursion)
   * October 4-5, 2012 HLT2012 Conference

Registration fees
-----------------

   * Early registration (until June 29, 2012): 110 EUR
   * Late registration: (until September 20, 2012): 150 EUR
   * On-site registration: 170 EUR

Students: 80 EUR (please send a proof of academic standing at the registration
time)

All prices include VAT 20%


SUBMISSIONS
-----------

The conference will consist primarily of oral presentations, posters
and demonstrations sessions. Abstracts of papers (about 500 -- 1000
words) should be submitted via the EasyChair conference
tool:
http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hlt2012.
Abstracts will be blind reviewed by at least two members of the Program
Committee.
Therefore, authors' names and affiliations SHOULD NOT APPEAR in the abstract.


PROCEEDINGS
-----------

Accepted papers selected by an international programme committee will
be published in the official conference proceedings by IOS Press,
Online Open Access, Book series: Frontiers in AI and Applications
(www.frontiersinai.com).
