1.- EACL 2012

=========================================================

The EACL conference is the triennial conference of the European chapter of the Association for 
Computational Linguistics (ACL).
EACL-2012 will be held in Avignon, France, April 23-27, 2012.
The conference will be organized by the Laboratoire d'Informatique d'Avignon at Avignon University.

The conference will take place at Sainte Marthe University Campus in a genuine university 
environment, dating back as far as 1303.
The city of Avignon, located at the confluence of the Rhone and Durance rivers, is well known for 
its ramparts, its famous PontSaint-Benezet and the Palais des Papes, which has been classified a 
World Heritage of Humanity site.
The city of Avignon is easy to reach by TGV train, plane or car.

10.- Student Travel Grants

=========================================================

Five EACL Studentships are available on a competitive basis, covering up to 500 euros of conference 
expenses (registration, travelling, accommodation). Only students who have a paper accepted at 
either the EACL main conference or Student Workshop are eligible to apply. Preference will be given 
to students who have a paper accepted at the Student Workshop and with limited travel funds.

Applications must be emailed to student-workshop at eacl2012.org
and they must include the following documents:
- Applicant's name, email, affiliation, PhD/masters year, source and amount of yearly income, and 
overview of the estimated conference costs
- Motivation letter
- Recommendation letter from a university faculty member
- Proof of student status

Important dates:
  9 March: studentship applications due
23 March: studentship notifications
