In the interest of creating new corpora, I'd like to invite the list
members to participate in a keyphrase extraction research study:
Researchers at the University of Ottawa's School of Electrical Engineering
and Computer Science (Faculty of Engineering) are recruiting volunteers
to participate in a study on how people index keyphrases when reading
computer science research articles as part of a Masters thesis. Each
volunteer will be asked to read 20 short papers, where each is expected to
take approximately 15 minutes to read, and record the keyphrases that
summarize the document. The study will be conducted via email at the
volunteer's leisure, and will conclude by February 28th.
If you are interested and you meet the following eligibility criteria,
please e-mail Chris Fournier at cfour037 at site.uottawa.ca. All volunteers
will be accepted, provided that you meet the following eligibility
criteria:
- Your field of study or expertise is related to Computer Science or
Software Engineering; and
- You are fluent in English.
The purpose of the experiment is to see how people assign keyphrases
to scientific literature, and specifically computer science related papers.
A degree of competency in computer science related topics is then required.
Please note that the data collected during the study will be anonymized and
then made public. Any personal information besides the annotations
provided will be kept private. Thank you for your consideration.
