Closer than what?  Are you simply saying that English is closer to
Scandinavian than was previously thought?  Or that English is closer to
Scandinavian languages than it is to other Germanic languages?  Or that
English is more close to Scandinavian languages than other Germanic
languages are to Scandinavian languages?
