A position exists for a Research Associate to work on the project
DisCoTex: Distributional Compositional Semantics for Text Processing. The
project is funded by the European Research Council in the form of a
Starting Grant awarded to Stephen Clark. The aim of the project is to
develop a general modeling framework of compositional distributional
semantics and apply it to cognitive modeling and large-scale NLP tasks.
The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in computational
linguistics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science,
or a related discipline. He/she will have strong programming skills and
previous experience in machine learning and/or natural language
processing. Previous experience in theoretical physics - e.g. quantum
mechanics - may also be considered an advantage.
The RA will work with Stephen Clark as part of a growing group of
researchers working on Distributional Compositional Semantics, and will be
a member of the Natural Language and Information Processing Research group
at the Computer Laboratory:

The post is for 3 years starting from 1 October 2013 (or perhaps earlier
if convenient for the chosen candidate).
