Researcher Positions at the National University of Singapore

 

The NUS Natural Language Processing Group is looking for suitable candidates
to fill the following research positions:

 

1.      Research Fellow

 

The initial appointment is for a period of one year, with possible extension
subject to research funding availability. The candidate will join at the
rank of Research Fellow, at a starting monthly salary of around S$5,500,
depending on qualifications and experience. The research area is spoken
dialog processing, related to contextual understanding of fragmentary
utterances, disfluency detection, and anaphora resolution.

 

A candidate should have a PhD in computer science or a related discipline,
with prior research experience and publications in natural language
processing, preferably in spoken dialog processing.  Strong programming
skills and good command of English (both spoken and written) are required.
Expertise in machine learning is valuable.

 

2.      Research Assistants

 

Multiple openings are available for full-time research assistants, to work
on various topics of natural language processing, such as statistical
machine translation, grammatical error correction, semantic processing, and
discourse/dialog processing. A candidate should possess a good honors degree
or equivalent in computer science or a related discipline. The monthly
salary is around S$3,400, depending on qualifications and experience. Strong
programming skills and good command of English (both spoken and written) are
required. Candidates interested in pursuing research leading to a PhD degree
in computer science (with specialization in natural language processing) are
especially encouraged to apply.
