The IC1207 COST Action, PARSEME, is an interdisciplinary scientific network
devoted to the role of multi-word expressions (MWEs) in parsing. PARSEME
(www.parseme.eu) offers possibilities for Short-Time Scientific Missions
(STSMs). Their objective of is to support Exchange Visits of, particularly,
young scientists in an institution or laboratory in another COST Country to
foster collaboration and learn new techniques.
An applicant for a STSM should be involved in a programme of
research related to the scope of PARSEME action in an institution
of a COST Country that is actively participating in the PARSEME
COST Action as:
" A postgraduate student;
" A postdoctoral fellow;
" An employee.
A host of a STSM can be an institution in the PARSEME COST participating
country (See http://www.cost.eu/domains_actions/ict/Actions/IC1207?parties)
or a formally approved institution in a non-COST country.
The duration of a STSM is minimum one week (5 working days) and
maximum 3 months, which can be extended to the maximum of 6
months for Early Stage Researchers (PhD students or a scientists
with no more than 8 years of experience after their PhDs).
The financial contribution for a STSM is a fixed grant. This
means that it normally covers travel costs (up to 500) and
subsistence (up to 160 per day) and need not cover all costs,
e.g. it will not cover health insurance, social or personal
security or similar. Its amount is based on the applicant's
budget request and the evaluation of the application by the STSM
assessment committee (the PARSEME Steering Committee). The total
of STSM grant should normally not exceed EUR 2,500 (or EUR 3,500
for early stage researchers for a visit that lasts above 3
months).
The STSMs are scheduled for the whole duration of PARSEME Action.
The Steering Committee decides about submitted application
several times per year. The next decision date will be in
mid-January 2014.
For all details on STSMs, and especially on application procedure, the
applicant should consult the COST Vademecum (Part B), section 4
(www.cost.eu/download/COST_Vademecum_Part_1).
