POSTDOCTORAL POSITION at University of Arizona

Position Summary
The School of Information: Science, Technology and Arts at the University
of Arizona seeks one or more postdoctoral researchers in artificial
intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, social network
analysis or closely related areas to work on any of several projects under
the direction of Professors Mihai Surdeanu and Paul Cohen.
The University of Arizona is an extraordinarily collaborative place,
especially for work in cognitive science. Tucson is a beautiful environment
for both scholarship and sport, and the sun shines almost every day.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with research in and management of projects in natural language
processing, in particular question answering and information extraction,
and social network analysis.
Qualifications
A PhD in computer science, cognitive science or closely related field.
The ideal candidate will know about modern statistical and machine learning
techniques and natural language processing, though this isn't necessary if
the candidate has expertise in other relevant areas.
As an empirical lab, we need someone who likes to build and experiment with
moderately complex, large-scale, multi-investigator systems.
