[Corpora-List] 2 Research Fellowships, University of Birmingham

The Centre for Corpus Research at the University of Birmingham seeks to 
appoint two Research Fellows to work on an ESRC-funded project entitled 
'Investigating Interdisciplinary Research Discourse: the case of Global 
Environmental Change', headed by Dr Paul Thompson (further information 
available at www.birmingham.ac.uk/globalenvironmentalchange). Both 
appointments are full-time for two years.

Research Fellow 1 will prepare, process, annotate, manage and analyse a 
large corpus of written English as well as contribute to the preparation 
of publications. The successful candidate will have advanced programming 
skills and substantial experience managing large corpora. Familiarity

Research Fellow 2 will design and conduct surveys and interviews, 
transcribe interview data, organise events associated with the project, 
and run a website as well as contributing to the preparation of 
publications.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of using 
surveys and interviews as research tools, and web skills. Some 
administrative experience and experience of working with corpora is an

Salary: Starting salary £27,854 a year, in a range up to £36,298 a year, 
with potential progression to £38,522 a year.
