To use a theological word: Amen! 

Those who provide the corpora being cited also have an obligation to maintain the links to the material. Only when there are copyright or legal reasons (such as those following on from, for example, using other people's Facebook or Twitter messages) would one allow material to be deliberately removed. But when the corpus is moved to a different place a redirect should be set up.
