The *Institute for the German Language (Institut für Deutsche Sprache,
IDS)*
in *Mannheim* and the *Institute for Computational Linguistics (ICL)* at *
Heidelberg University* will jointly establish the *Leibniz ScienceCampus
"Empirical Linguistics and Computational Language Modeling"*. The Leibniz
ScienceCampus aims to conduct innovative research to support the
high-quality automatic annotation of large-scale corpus resources of German
language through induction of domain-, genre- and variety-adaptive natural
language processing models, to enable advanced empirical research in
linguistics as well as innovative applications in the humanities and the
social sciences.

The Institute for the German Language (IDS) and the Institute for
Computational Linguistics (ICL) at Heidelberg University offer a position
starting *1 April 2015* for a
*Scientific Coordinator (Reference number: 1/2015)*
Salary is based on Germany's academic salary level TV-L 13. The weekly
working hours correspond to 100% of the regular weekly working hours. The
vacancy is for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of
extension for further two years.
*Responsibilities:*
* Administration and coordination of the research project
* Project management
* External representation of the Science Campus
* Organization of conferences
* Communication with research projects of the ScienceCampus and with
cooperation partners
* Research activities within the Leibniz ScienceCampus
* Contribution to projects within the ScienceCampus and third-party
funded projects
* Fund-raising for projects at EU and national levels.
*Requirements:*
* Completed Ph.D. in computational linguistics, linguistics, computer
science or related areas
* Experience in the acquisition and management of projects very welcome
* Excellent teamwork skills, outstanding commitment, openness and
flexibility, experience in the coordination of research groups very
welcome
