[Corpora-List] Formality of domains in Media English texts

Dear all,

I am doing a corpus study of English media texts. These texts
are subcategorized into five domains: arts and culture, business,
editorial, newsreport and social life. I want to put these five domains
into a continuum from the least formal to the most formal so that my
analysis of linguistic features can be based on it. It is assumed that the
order will be from social life or arts and culture, via newsreport, to
editorial and business. But it is only an assumption. Is there any way to
prove this or any relevant literature to discuss this? Any suggestions will
be welcome. Many thanks.
