Postdoc position in language technology (automatic image annotation),
IICT-BAS, Sofia, Bulgaria

The Linguistic Modelling Department at the Institute of Information and
Communication Technologies (IICT), Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS)
opens a post-doc position in language technologies. The research work will
be focused on automatic annotation (tagging or keywording) of large-scale
image collections.

The position will be funded by the FP7 Capacity project AComIn
(Advanced Computing for Innovation, http://www.iict.bas.bg/acomin).
The position is opened for 12 months with option to extend it till the end
of AComIn project. The selection procedure includes a (skype) interview.

The successful candidate will be involved in research related to semantic
image annotation, key word expansion, word-sense disambiguation, and
multilingual aspects. Experiments will be carried out with image archives
provided by Imagga Technologies Ltd (www.imagga.com).

The applicants should have a completed PhD or equivalent in Computational
Linguistics (or Computer Science with focus on NLP and/or Information
Retrieval) and interest in Computer Vision and Image Analysis.
