HP Labs China is now seeking talents to fill open internship positions in
the research area of social network analysis and applications.

*Background*
HP Labs China is a part of the Networking and Mobility Lab (NML) of HP
Labs, which has research facility and teams across Palo Alto, Princeton and
Beijing. We conduct fundamental and applied research that advances the
state-of-the-art while driving significant business impact for HP business
units in areas of data center networking, software-defined networking
(SDN), wireless networking and mobility.

*Internship Position Description*

Primary Location - Beijing, China
Schedule - Full-time
Language - English

Research projects are focused in areas include (but are not limited to):

o    Social computing and social network analytics
o    Big data and cloud computing platform
o    Mobile computing and mobile systems, context awareness , service,
platform and applications

The intern students are expected to work closely with researchers to
provide innovative ideas and make them real – contributing along the full
range from initial novel ideas to design, development, implementation,
evaluation, and technology transfer. High quality publications and patents
are also expected from the innovation.

*Qualification*
Candidates shall be in Computer Science, electrical engineering or related
disciplines. For students from China, the internship is for at least 6
months. Work schedule could be flexible based on the students’
availability. Overseas students are encouraged to apply for full-time
intern positions for at least three months.

We are looking for internship candidates who have:

o    Ability to work independently and in teams;
o    Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
o    Strong systems development and software engineering skills, which
include strong C/C++ or Java programming skills
o    Knowledge of information analysis, information management, data mining
and machine learning is a good plus
o    Knowledge of user modeling, recommender systems, and social computing
is a plus
o    Good Perl, Python, Shell script or R programming skills is a plus
