Dear colleagues, 

We are pleased to inform you that the Departments of English I and II at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) are relaunching a new edition of the peer-reviewed journal ESTUDIOS INGLESES DE LA UNIVERSIDAD COMPLUTENSE  (Complutense Journal of English Studies) on an annual basis beginning with the 2014 issue. 
The aim of the journal is to provide a forum for publishing cutting-edge, high quality research papers encompassing all areas in the wide domain of English, from Language and Linguistics to Literatures and Cultures of the English-speaking countries. It promotes a lively exchange among scholars and writers in the humanities and related disciplines who hold diverse perspectives on current developments in this ever-changing global field. The journal welcomes articles, book reviews, book notices, biographical notes, commentaries, perspectives as well as debates, reports and interviews in all areas of English Studies: English Language & Literature; English Language & Linguistics; Literatures in English (and comparative literature), Critical theory and Cultural Studies; Literature & Culture. The review section draws special attention to works published in major academic presses.
To facilitate the rapid publication of high-quality articles, the Journal has six main section editors who review manuscripts in their area of expertise. These sections include the following: Interdisciplinary Literary and Linguistic Studies; English Language & Linguistics; English Language and Communication; Literatures in English (and comparative literature), Contemporary Critical Theory and Cultural Studies; English Literature & Culture Original research articles, review articles, short reports, and letters dealing with the above subjects are considered for publication. The journal also publishes case studies. In principle, an original research article should not exceed (9,000 words, including all illustrations and references. Review articles should not generally exceed 5000 words including illustrations and references. Short reports also should not exceed 2,500 words, including all references and illustrations. Letters should be brief and to the point.

The Journal has adopted the following editorial policies:
•	The Journal has emphasis on speedy publication. Most articles are published within five months of acceptance.
•	Papers that are well-written and presented in the style of journal are eligible for a fast track review. We strongly encourage authors to obtain help with English writing if it is not their first language, and to pay careful attention to the "Author Guidelines" which is found at the journal website (http://revistas.ucm.es/index.php/EIUC )

The Journal is available through the Internet to increase the access of readers to the papers published in it. We are inviting you to submit papers for publication in Complutense Journal of English Studies in electronic format through the online submission system OJS available at the journal website.

We are also requesting you to encourage your colleagues and friends to submit their papers for publication in this journal. Please share this letter with them.

We hope you will consider Estudios Ingleses de la Universidad Complutense (Complutense Journal of English Studies) when submitting your manuscripts for publication.
