The European Patent Office is seeking an IT Architect (Administrator)

The Information Management (IM) department of the European Patent Office (EPO) has some 450 permanent staff, as well as a number of managed service providers, working on IT and information processing, with a professional and proactive focus on supporting the EPO's different business processes.

Each of the departments offering one or two IT Architect posts provides expertise on projects and application maintenance within its functional or technical competence areas. The IT Architect plays a key role in aligning business or IT change requests with architecture guidelines and proposes architecture solutions. The vacancies are in various domains as indicated at the end of this notice.

In addition to qualifications, we want to encourage candidates with equivalent work experience in a scientific environment and an excellent scientific record in information retrieval and text mining.


*         Technologies for Text mining, Concept extraction and Data classification  including word sense disambiguation (decision trees, MLP, SVM, HMM, CRF, etc.)

*         Natural Language Processing technology

*         Information Retrieval technology and/or  Knowledge Management & Representation technologies

*         Cross-Lingual Information Retrieval (CLIR)
