The Integrated Graduate School of the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 
732 ///"Incremental Specification in Context"///at the University of 
Stuttgart invites applications for five short-term grants for PhD 
students. The grants are supposed to support PhD students in 
collaborating with researchers and other PhD students of the SFB, if 
they are interested in theoretical and/or computational approaches to 
analyses of context specification.

Grant holders are expected to affiliate with one or two of the research 
projects in the Collaborative Research Centre. If accepted, the grant 
holders willparticipate in the Integrated Graduate School, which offers 
academic courses on specialised topics inlinguistics andcomputational 
linguistics, classes on soft skills and expert courses on technical 
competences, research visits of internationally known researchers from 
the field, and regular PhD meetings. In addition, the Collaborative 
Research Centre supports participation in summer schoolsand conference 
participation. Grant holders will receive a (tax-free) monthly grant of 
1000 EUR plus 103 EUR for additional costs.

*** Qualification Requirements:
Candidates are expected to hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in 
Linguistics or Computational Linguistics,and to have a research focus on 
analyses of linguistic specification in context,which is ideally 
manifest in earlier research activities, either in the form of 
presentations/publications, oras part of a carefully worked out plan for 
a dissertation project. Applicants from within and outside Germany are 
invited to apply.

*** Application Procedure:
Interested candidates are invited to send their electronic applications, 
including their Master's degree or equivalent (scan), a CV (including 
two contact data for references), a short sketch of the planned 
dissertation project (1-2 pages), and an accompanying letter outlining 
their motivation for applying at the Collaborative Research Centre. The 
motivation should indicate the projects the candidates wish to be 
affiliated with. Candidates with an additional interest in the field of 
digital humanities are askedto notethisin the application. The contact
