PARSEME COST Action IC1207 (www.parseme.eu) is dedicated to parsing and multi-word expressions (WMEs).
It gathers multidisciplinary experts from 30 countries and is structured in four Working Groups 
<http://typo.uni-konstanz.de/parseme/index.php/organization/working-groups>.
PARSEME organizes its first Training School in Prague on 19-23 January 2015.

     Introduction to HPSG and challenges from MWEs
*Joakim Nivre* (Uppsala University, Sweden)
     Introduction to dependency grammar and dependency parsing
     Graph-based and transition-based dependency parsing
     Multiword expressions in dependency parsing
     Practical lab session using MaltParser
*Shuly Wintner* (University of Haifa, Israel) & *Manfred Sailer* (Goethe-Universität Frankfurt a.Main, Germany)
     Overview: linguistic properties of MWEs
     MWEs in linguistic theory (based on English/German/French)
     Challenges from other languages (Hebrew)
     Encoding in a computational lexicon; application to the participants' languages; summary
*Pavel Straňák* & *Jiří Mírovský* (Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic)
     Representation and annotation of MWEs in treebanks
     Prague treebank search engine and its applications to MWEs (2 practical labs)

REGISTRATION AND REIMBURSEMENT

All interested trainees are required to fill in the *registration form* (https://ufal.mff.cuni.cz/parseme-winter-school-registration) until *20 
November 2014*.
If the number of the registered candidates is higher than the capacity of the Training School, the PARSEME Steering Committee 
<http://typo.uni-konstanz.de/parseme/index.php/organization#SC> will select those who can be invited to participate (young researchers and PARSEME 
members <http://typo.uni-konstanz.de/parseme/index.php/participants> have priority). Most of them will also be entitled to *reimbursement* of their 
travel and stay (provided that they are affiliated in one of the PARSEME member countries <http://www.cost.eu/domains_actions/ict/Actions/IC1207?parties>)

*20 November 2014*: registration *deadline* for candidate trainees
1 December 2014: notification about the participants selected for invitation and for funding
5 December 2014: e-COST invitations for the participants selected for funding
19-23 January 2014: Training School
