Dear Colleagues,
I have been added to the List just recently, so let me say a few words of introduction.
I'm working at the University of Warsaw, Institute of Applied Linguistics (have PHD in linguistics; holding a professorial position). My second affiliation is School of Social Psychology, Warsaw too.
My research agenda covers text linguistics, discourse analysis and cross-cultural communication - including more specific topics such as academic communication or CDA.
At the moment I am coordinating a project under a working title: US and THEM (in-group and out-group meanings in language and communication: a cross-cultural perspective). We will have a panel on that in Budapest at the Conference next July. We are also planning the publication of a volume. I am still soliciting paper proposals (for the volume) relating to the US and THEM issue. Contributions addressing theoretical aspects of the distinction, as well as grammatical and textual, are most welcome. There is - clearly - room there for critical-discourse analyses. Anybody who would be interested, please contact me for more information.
with very best greetings from Warsaw
sincerely
Anna Duszak
