Dear colleagues,

Livio Gaeta and I invite contributions to a special issue of the open
access journal "Languages" (not to be confused with the slightly more
well-known "Language") on "Synthetic compounds in German and beyond".
Given that Cognitive Linguistics and Construction Grammar have seen
increased interest in morphology in recent years, we would be delighted
to receive some contributions from DGKL list members. All relevant
information here:

https://www.mdpi.com/journal/languages/special_issues/Synthetic_Compounds_in_German_and_Beyond
<https://www.mdpi.com/journal/languages/special_issues/Synthetic_Compounds_in_German_and_Beyond>

In a first step, we invite abstracts of ~500 words (until Sept. 15,
2021). If your abstract is accepted, we invite a full manuscript by
February 15, 2022.

Like many open-access journals, "Languages" works with Article
Processing Charges (APCs), which can often be covered by institutions or
third-party funding. If you don't have access to funding and want to
submit an abstract, please don't hesitate to do so - discounts and
waivers are possible, and while we can't make any final decisions, we as
guest editors will of course support you in applying for a fee waiver if
your abstract is accepted.

Best wishes,
Stefan
