To the LINGANTH, DISCOURS, LANGUAGE AND CULTURE, CRITICAS,
AND LINGUIST lists (please excuse the cross-posting):
Has anyone written analyses or commentaries, or is planning to,
on the discourse(s) on the war in Yugoslavia? (military or
political rhetoric, public statements or speeches, parliamentary
debates, journalistic discourse, on-site accounts or reports
from victims, meaning-construction procedures, visual and oral
discourses, the pragmatics of information, the social
location and function of these discourses, propaganda,
ideologies, etc. etc.).
I offer myself to gather any writings on this issue in any
language -- as provisionally, impressionistically, or urgently
written as they may be --, to set up a simple web site, and to
promptly put up each text in the web site, in the hope that we
can help contribute to the understanding of this very
serious international situation, perhaps the most serious one
after World War II.
If you're willing to help with your insights, please send me
your text to lxalvarz at udc.es , as an attachment in any
wordprocessing program, in HTML, or in plain text. Thank you,
