Hello. I'm Ana Maria Martirena, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, with an MA in
linguistics from Cornell and further graduate studies in linguistics at the
U of Chicago.

I am now reading everything I can get hold of in conversation analysis and
gender and language. My proposed research topic is non-pronominal forms of
address in conversations -- I'm trying to find my way to it.

I've published some work on CA and on Toba, an Argentine Indian language.

I've just joined the list and, feeling fairly isolated down here, I would
most welcome course descriptions and bibliographies on the topics I
mentioned above.

I can manage to fly to the States once a year if an event (congress,
conference) is of interest -- how can I keep updated?
