Introduction

Hello--

My name is Chris Kreiser and I am currently working within Discourse
Studies at Texas A&M University. I am working on a project on sound
symbolism, specifically the pejorative sound "shm" in such word
combinations as taxes-shmaxes and books-shmooks. As well, I am interested
in a rhetorical analysis of front yard gardens, specifically the ways in
which people attempt to decorate/disguise such state-imposed blemishes as
water meters and street signs. I am always curious to hear what others may
have to say about such interests. Thank-you and I have already enjoyed the
numerous conversations developing on this list.
