I'm going to apply the ideas Irving Goffman's "Footing" article to found
found in his Forms of Talk book (1981) to a teaching tape I made of
myself recently in an ESL freshman composition class.  If anyone is
familiar with this phase of Goffman's thinking, do you have any
suggestions?  I can't use the "Lecture" chapter; it's gotta be
"Footing."
