			Communications Studies Program

The Communications Studies Program at Brock University invites applications
for a one year limited term appointment (with the possibility of renewal
for up to two additional years) at the rank of Assistant Professor,
effective July 1, 1999, subject to budgetary approval.  A thriving
interdisciplinary program (which expects to achieve departmental status in
the coming year) with approximately 350 majors, Communications Studies
offers undergraduate specialization in four streams:  media and culture,
communications policy, business communications, and information technology
(for more information see http://www.brocku.ca/commstudies).  A recently
completed Ph.D. in a relevant social science discipline is required,
together with teaching experience and expertise in the areas of
organizational communication and communications research methods (both
quantitative and qualitative).  In addition to undergraduate teaching, the
successful candidate will be expected to be engaged in independent research
and scholarly activities and to participate in the affairs of the
Program/Department.  Applicants should submit by April 30, 1999, a letter
of application accompanied by a curriculum vitae, summaries of teaching
evaluations, and selected reprints and pre-prints of published work to:
