Hello Listers!
Thought I had better send my introduction now, since I've already started
posting to the list. I hope you can excuse my bad form and view it in a more
positive light by calling it enthusiasm :)
I'm a Speech Pathologist/Audiologist and teach in the Communication Disorders
Department at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. By some odd twist of fate
(or luck), I have developed a niche in the area of technology and my
experiences with computer technology and teaching, particularly the work I have
done in MOO's - text based virtual reality environments, have caused me to want
to know more about discourse, discourse communities, the connection between
oral and written discourse, etc. From the introductions so far, I suspect I am
way out of my league on this list, but that's where I need to be in order to
learn (thanks Vygotsky!)
