Introduction

I am a linguist who works mainly on the languages of South Asia, Pakistan
in particular.  Aside from work on individual languages, I am interested
in deictic systems, metaphor, language contact phenomena, and questions of
culture-specific aspects of rhetoric.  By joining this list I hope to get
a feel for the range of questions and issues being addressed in the area
of discourse.
