high context/low context

Hi,

Lately, in talking to people in my area, I have heard them using terms like
High Context and Low Context....I remember the term from Edward Hall but
thought that it's fallen out of use because it's not very descriptive or
helpful and because many cultures can be both at once...are the people I'm
listening to behind or are these terms in current use?
right? or is this term still in use by cross-cultural specialists, discourse
analysts, anthropologists?
