The paper mentioned by Rendall Eggert (Clark 1983, see below) is
certainly quite relevant to the question of naming novel entities.
Apart from its original place of publication in the Flores d'Arcais &
Jarvella volume, that paper is also available in Clark's (1992)
"Arenas of  Language Use" (Chicago Univ. Press & CSLI), which also
contains reprints of and references to other papers by Clark
and his co-workers that might be useful for this query.
