Hello Dr. van Dijk,

Your Web site is very resourceful for researchers who are interested in discourse. I'm not sure if you would remember me. I am currently working on my Ph.D. dissertation at the University of Hawaii on the topic of discourse markers, based on politeness theory. 

Also, I am an information specialist/librarian at the Indiana State University library. I'm searching Web resources on linguistics, since we are planning to catalog these sites for users. Your site is very informative and I'll definitely catalog your site.

I was wondering if you could give me any advice/suggestions on my manuscript on some portions of my dissertation. I'm thinking to submit it to one of these journals: Discourse Studies and/or Discourse & Society. I'll attach the abstract to this message and if you're willing to take a look at the manuscript,  I'll mail it to you. Your suggestions and advice would be extremely helpful for my research.
