A Mouton de Gruyter Journal!!!

TEXT
an interdisciplinary journal for the study of discourse
Edited by Srikant Sarangi
ISSN 0165-4888

Since its inception in 1981, Text has established itself as an
internationally recognized forum for interdisciplinary research on all
aspects of discourse (e.g., the situational and historical nature of
text production, the cognitive and sociocultural processes of language
practice, participant-based structures of negotiation and linguistic
selection). Text aims to actively encourage debate on these issues, not
only about the theoretical and methodological dimensions of discourse
but also their practical and socially relevant outcomes. This is
reflected in the makeup of its specialist editorial and advisory board,
a mix of prominent scholars with a range of expertise in the field. Text
further encompasses the variable nature of discourse research with its
consolidation of topics of potential interest through theme-focused
special issues and through specially commissioned foundational debates
in a dialogic format. The function of the journal is to offer a "truly"
interdisciplinary perspective, including consideration of the problems
and issues of interdisciplinarity itself.
